If "a word to the wise is sufficient," that word must be "Serve." It is not too early to apply for a position as a District Representative or to serve on a Focus Group or an Activity Committee for 2009-2010.Fort Wayne, Lafayette, Madison, Michigan City, and New Castle Districts will be electing District Representatives at their spring meetings. The nomination form is in the Blue Notebook in the Forms section. There is no date on this form but the current DR must have the application in time to review before the District Meeting. Be sure to check with your DR to see if your District has set a due date! District Representative applicants must have served as a county president and be recommended by her/his county. Any member may apply to serve on a Focus Group or Activity Committee. Specific information is on the application form which is also in the Forms section of the Blue Book. There is a term limit of 2 (two) consecutive years on any group. If you have enjoyed serving in one capacity, encourage a friend to apply there, while you offer your service in another area. These applications will be collected at the Spring District meetings and appointments will be made before Home and Family Conference. We can once again have each district represented in each area of service if all members are informed of the opportunities to serve. Jean Hitchcock
